About the client
Halden prison is one of Norway’s largest prisons with about 250 inmates. The prison has a high level of security, in addition to a transitional home, and carries out custody and imprisonment of various categories. Halden prison has a high professional level and emphasises interdisciplinary collaboration.

The challenge
The responsible for the children department was in charge of a new project. The vision and concern was that children who came to visit or wanted to find out more about the prison could connect to this experience in an interactive and friendly way. This new solution should not only be appealing to children but also as a source of information to young adults.
We starting planning a website specially made for the children who visited the prison. It had to be a simple page, not too complicated, but with a design touch.
The solution
The first step is always the discovery. We define the scope of the project and through design thinking methodology we propose different ideas or possible solutions. In conversation with the responsible for the children department, we decided to add dynamic and interactive videos for the different points on the prisons map. Each video explains a sector of the prison. Due to budget restrictions, videos had to be simple.
Always interacting with the customer throughout the process, we first designed and then developed the website.
Adding explainer videos to a website allows the users to do more than just read what's on the site. It allows the user to communicate in different ways with the interface.
The result
We delivered a children friendly, responsive and interactive website.
If you scroll down the home page you will find a cart of the prison with 9 different special spots. When you click on the button numbers, an explainer animated video will pop up.
